Welcome, one and all, to the first dispatch from this “radical left lunatic”
Adolescent AnCap paranoiac/cryptobug turned DSA organizer (read: “Antifa Supersoldier”)
This isn’t just another newsletter about politics. Think of it more like digging through the wreckage of belief — a weekly excavation of how people change their minds once the slogans stop working.
I graduated high school as a left-leaning libertarian, a true believer in markets, merit, and the magic of decentralization. I hadn’t given it much thought, but accepted the faulty premises that more and more young guys are being sold these days: that blockchain would save us from the banks; that “freedom” meant opting out; that clever ideas could outbuild bad systems if we just built them right this time. But reality has a way of grinding those illusions down — especially when those ideals rest on the fantasy that we’re all free agents in a world built out of labor, networks, and power.
Somewhere between cynicism and exhaustion, I stopped mistaking detachment for clarity. I started looking at who benefits, who gets left behind, and how the so-called “invisible hand” seems to always give the same people the finger.
Why even bother writing this damn thing? Every week? “What will you feature for your enjoyment and edification?” you might ask…
Simply put, I am fed up with the status quo as it gets worse year after year. I am burned out from barely scraping by however I can for the longest decade in the world’s wealthiest failed state. It’s high time everyone raise their voices- the chronic problems in our society will not change unless society is forced to progress, dragged kicking and screaming into a new paradigm of equitable distribution of the bounty given to us by or derived from the Earth- y’know, the planet we’re curbstomping with fossil fuel emmissions on a daily basis.
In addition to political analysis, leftist critique of pop culture and societal trends, and the occasion rant about ending the drug war so I can finally get speed from the pharmacy, there will be satirical gags, short and memetic recurring bits, and other sources of levity. I am also looking for like-minded writers who want to get their work published- experience is welcome but not necessary if you’re a strong writer and passionate about moving the overton window away from Mordor and inch-by-inch toward the stateless, classless society we fucking deserve already. Looking forward to hearing from y’all!
I don’t even need the Full Monty; I will happily settle for achievable things- if we could only get single-payer healthcare, public housing, and UBI instated without it somehow subsidizing the “dragon sickness” of the 0.1% I might not find the inevitability of death as comforting as I usually do. Let those rich fucks pay for their own K-holes- I’ve lived three entire decades without causing a single economic crisis, and I’ve never gotten a free K-hole from the government! Maybe if I had, I’d feel more fondly of people who chase power for the sole purpose of preventing societal progress. But I digress…
Lastly, I’ll be peppering these dispatches with practical advice on how to make ends meet in dire situations- spending half the pandemic through now perpetually near zero-dollars broke and having been forced to get creative in finding new income streams over and over has left me with a wealth of insight into Surviving Late-Stage Capitalism.
Spread the word!
If anything I’ve said so far resonated with you, please subscribe and read Issue #1 when I release it Tuesday. Keep calm, don’t lose your head, and DO NOT obey in advance!
‘Til next time, comrades,
Deewreck
